Project success is only possible when stakeholders speak the same business language. The Business Terms Model (BTM), also known as the “Conceptual Data Model” (which is not the preferred term and we’ll explain why), captures a Common Business Language for a particular initiative. With more and more data being created and used, combined with intense competition, strict regulations, and rapid-spread AI and social media, the financial, liability, and credibility stakes have never been higher. Therefore, the need for a Common Business Language has never been greater.
