This presentation showcases a strategic initiative undertaken by the State of Colorado to design and implement a Workforce Intelligence Solution over a six-month period. The project’s primary objective is to shift the State from time-consuming, reactive reporting to a culture of proactive, predictive insights. By integrating data from multiple operational systems—including case management, labor exchange, and unemployment insurance—the State has established a centralized and trusted “single source of truth.”

The work was delivered across three strategic phases: establishing a high-integrity data foundation (discovery, data readiness, and solution setup); business intelligence dashboard development, including 11 Minimum Viable Product (MVP) visualizations focused on the State’s most pressing workforce questions; and training to ensure long-term business ownership and sustainability. The resulting solution provides actionable intelligence to support strategic talent and workforce decisions while remaining secure and scalable.

Attendees will learn how the State identified high-impact workforce questions, translated them into requirements, and established a solution that is sustained by the business, rather than dependent on technical teams. The presentation will also share lessons learned in using MVPs to deliver early wins and prioritizing initiatives based on their direct value to the business.
