After studying Political Science and Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam, Rob started his career in market research. After a few years, he switched to IT and worked in a leadership role in the corporate and public sectors. After Rob joined the Rijksmuseum as IT director, the museum reopened in 2013 after a major renovation. The organization has undergone a considerable transformation in the last ten years and has developed into one of the most successful museums in the world. In the role of CIO, he is closely involved in this transformation and development of an innovative digital offering. Rob’s ambition is to build digital solutions to improve customer value, operational excellence and new business models. In addition, he is the founder of the Rijksmuseum’s Innovation Lab and regularly speaks about digital transformation, organizational change and innovation.
